President, World Trade Centre - Toronto

Leigh Smout is the President of World Trade Centre Toronto (WTC-T), which is the trade services arm of the Toronto Region Board of Trade with a mission to support international trade and business growth for the region.

Since joining the WTC-T in May 2016, Leigh has built the national, award-winning Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), founded the Scale Up Institute Toronto and continues WTC-T’s good standing with the World Trade Centers Association – consisting of 326 branded properties and trade services associations in 89 countries.

Leigh has extensive experience developing and leading strategy and business growth, with corporate, government and extensive entrepreneurial experience, focused on growing new and emerging programs. This includes the role of CFO/COO of a dot-com, Bee-Trade.com, President of Pulse Health Products and Managing Director of Newtown Sales Ltd.
